What is a magazine?
A magazine is a paper publishes information periodically, which has contained general public news, opinion and private narratives of any particular topic or issue. Either it is knowledge or to entertain the public. It is a weekly, monthly published paper to entertain the readers.
Popular magazines:
The periodical is a word used to describe any publication, those are published multiple times. It is the third category of trade journals or papers, it may include daily or popular news in public was written by professionals but not research related.
In Magazines, there are two main types- Magazines of general interest: These are the normal papers to entertain the public. News magazines are published on weekly or monthly on popular news in media or newspapers. Sports magazines, high-class magazine, movie magazine, technical magazines etc.
What is a journal?
Journals are scholarly regular published papers. The journals contain articles which are submitted by the researchers, Ph.D. students or specialists of a particular subject or any other fields like psychology, medical, science researchers etc.

An Academic journal may be a regular publication that is scholarship referring to a selected educational discipline. Many of those are function permanent and transparent forum for the presentation of the analysis of research. These regular publication are based on scholarship relating to a particular field of research. The main goal of this publishing journals is to give researchers a venue to “convey their knowledge to another and contribute what they did to improve the nature knowledge and perfecting all professional fields”.
Open access journals: Open access means free available, digital, online information, which is free of cost to access that information. It is less restrictive copyright and licensing barriers than traditionally published work to users and authors.
Scholarly: Scholarly is another type of Academic journals, many instructions at the college level they use scholarly journal articles as a source when writing a research paper. These are also written by experts in academic or professional fields researchers for excellent sources to the newly researcher.
Trade or professional journals: Trade and professional publications are magazines, journals, newspapers, written for particular business, advertising purposes, and marketing products. It is based on pay and uses services to publish the articles.
Peer-review Journals :
Peer-review journal articles are also written by the experts but it is reviewed by several other experts in those fields before it published, in order to maintain article content quality in journals. It is the main reason behind rejecting articles to publish.

what is an impact factor and ISSN:
An impact factor (IF) is a measure of the frequency, which the average articles in a journal are cited in a year. It is used for calculation of rank or importance of articles, journals when those are cited.
Calculation of impact factor:
This calculation is based between two years period included the number of times is listed.
For example:
Take Jacobs journals of two years previous.
X= the number of times articles published in 2016 and 2017 were cited by indexing in 2018
Y= the total number of citable items published in 2016-2017
Hence,
X/Y = 2018 Impact factor.
ISSN:
International Standard Serial Number(ISSN) is a unique number to identify a printed or electronic periodical journals title. It is especially used to distinguish between same title journals. Usually, it is eight-digit code that is, it has eight digits like “NNNN-NNNC”.

SCOPUS:
A Scopus is a bibliographic database containing the abstract, citation for Academic journals, it stores more than 22,000 titles from 5,000 publications. In this publication, nearly 20,000 are peer-viewed journals of scientific, medical, social and pharma sciences. Scopus gives four types of quality measures of each title, those are h-indexing, cite score, SJR(SCImago journal rank) and SNIP(Source Normalised Impact Per Paper). It includes three types of sources which are journals, trade journals, and book series.
PubMed:
Pubmed is a free search engine accessing fundamentally in the Medline database to store reference and abstract of life science and bio-medical papers. Pubmed follows three Essential statuses that a journal have in it.
- All articles in the journals are indexed in the Medline database means index Medicus and PubMed because it creates a free public search interface. This interface is connected to the Medline database it means all the Medline database will appear in the PubMed database
- Only some select articles in the journals are deposited in PubMed central, because in order to comply with the public access policy in PubMed, otherwise not indexing in PubMed or Medline
- Every article in the journal are published will be indexed only in Pubmed, not in medicine, in order to include its journals undergo a selective review process. Once the journal is registered under medcus these reports undergo extensive processing for other value-adding indexing

When we submit a research paper or article, it is not published soon it may go under processed. These are the stages in articles processing

An editorial board is a fundamental formed group of individuals to work directly with the editor to develop the research paper or articles. Wiley Publishers:
Wiley Publishers was started in 1807 by Charles Wiley. It was a print shop in Manhattan, United States. The company was a publisher on religious, legal and non-fiction titles, American literary figures as Washington Irving, Herman Melville, and Edgar Allan Poe belongs to 19th century. Publication process:
- After submitting the article the process of publication starts with the production phase.
- During this phase, the article appearance will change considerably, once the editor’s job is complete journal manager takes over the article through its information.

Nature:
Nature was founded by Norman Lockyer in 1919; he has succeeded as editor by Sir Richard Gregory. Nature is one of the most recognizable scientific journals in the world and was ranked the world’s most cited scientific journal by the science editor of the 2010 journal citation reports.
Publication process in nature:

Publication process in Taylor and Francis Group:
The process of publishing an article is quite different in Taylor and Francis Group. It works in two types of processes. These are called accelerated publications.
The fast track process:
- After submitting the article it takes 2 to 3 weeks for acceptance. 1-2 weeks for peer review and 1 week for author revision
- Acceptance to online publication; it takes 1-2 weeks, proofs within 5 working days
- Submission to publication takes 3-5 weeks; online publication of final PDFs relies on authors returning proofs within 48 hours for the fast track

IEEE Xplore:
IEEE Xplore is database research for access and discovery to electrical engineering, technical standards, conference proceedings and related materials on journal articles, electronics, and computer science and particular fields of science.
Publication process:
- On average, the IEEE process takes 3-4 weeks from submission to accept/reject notification
- Submission to publication time takes usually 4-6 weeks
- Submitted articles are undergoing a peer-review process. They aim for standard reviews time of fewer than 2 months
- When they receive the article, the administrator first decides the article whether it meets the formal criteria. If it is not Editor-in-chief consults the other members of the editorial board
